Ayala Park Skatepark
About Ayala Park Skatepark
Ayala Skate Park (often referred to as Chino Skate Park), located within Ruben S. Ayala Park (5575 Edison Ave, Chino, CA 91710), is a sprawling 28,700-square-foot concrete facility that opened in December 2003. Designed by SITE Design Group and constructed by California Skateparks, it stands as a pivotal example of early-2000s Southern California skatepark architecture, widely recognized for its vast scale and continuous lines.
Transition Architecture: The heavy transition footprint is anchored by a three-leaf clover bowl featuring authentic pool coping and tile, alongside a demanding 9-foot square bowl. An expansive flow section bridges the terrain, utilizing interconnected banks and bowls ranging from 4 to 7 feet deep to sustain momentum.
Street Course Details: Integrated directly into the broader flow area, the street elements are highlighted by a notable step-up launch, a 6-block handrail, and back-to-back pyramids.
Design Signature: Characteristic of SITE Design Group's era of work, the facility avoids rigid compartmentalization in favor of an "endless flow" layout. It brings street and transition elements together into a cohesive, fast-paced concrete landscape that demands high speed.
