About Kona Skatepark

Kona Skatepark is a historic 9-acre outdoor skatepark in Jacksonville, Florida, operating continuously since June 4, 1977. Designed by Martin Ramos II and still family operated, the park is recognized by Guinness World Records as the longest-surviving privately owned skatepark in the world. Its sprawling concrete terrain preserves multiple generations of skatepark design, from classic 1970s transition architecture to modern street and vert additions. The park is best known for its legendary snake run, deep concrete bowls, vert ramps, street section, and the iconic Kona Gap connecting major sections of the park. Over the decades, Kona helped shape modern vert skating and hosted landmark competitions including the U.S. Open of Skateboarding and World Cup events. The park also appeared as a fully playable level in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4. Kona remains active year-round with skateboarding, BMX, lessons, camps, contests, and live events, continuing to serve as one of the most influential surviving skateparks in skateboarding history.
