Mayfair Park Skatepark
About Mayfair Park Skatepark
Mayfair Park Skatepark is a medium-sized, open-air street plaza constructed entirely of concrete, much of which is tinted a unique red color. The design focuses on street-style skateboarding, eschewing transitional elements like bowls or large ramps in favor of features that replicate an urban skating environment. The layout is packed with a diverse range of obstacles. A central feature is a seven-stair set with flanking hubba ledges and a central handrail, providing a challenging element for more experienced skaters. A smaller two-stair set offers a more approachable option. The park's perimeter is lined with a long quarter pipe, allowing for speed generation and lip tricks. A variety of ledges are strategically placed throughout the park, including a notable curved ledge that offers a unique challenge for grinds and manuals. The inclusion of a Pier 7-style block pays homage to the iconic San Francisco skate spot. Additional features like a pyramid funbox, a euro gap, and multiple manual pads are integrated into the flow of the park. A long, circular metal rail stands out as a distinctive and popular feature. The overall design encourages creative lines and combo tricks, making it a dynamic and engaging space for the local skateboarding community. The park is situated next to the Mayfair Community Center and is a key recreational component of the wider Mayfair Park.
