About Monitor Park Skatepark

Monitor Park Skatepark is a 6,000-square-foot concrete facility located in the Watts neighborhood of South Central Los Angeles. The park opened in 2015 and was a collaborative design and build project led by Spohn Ranch, working in partnership with EPT Design and the Trust for Public Land. While it has a relatively compact footprint, it features a classic design focused on maximizing continuous flow throughout the space. The layout is heavily transition-oriented, providing a surprisingly smooth and engaging ride anchored by bowl and mini-ramp features, though it also seamlessly integrates a few targeted street obstacles into the design.
