Portales Action Sports Park

Portales Action Sports Park is a multi-discipline all-wheel facility in Portales, New Mexico, and is recognized as the state's first park designed to serve skateboards, BMX bikes, scooters, and skates in one venue. Opened in June 2024, it replaced older infrastructure with a modern destination-grade setup inside the city park complex. The park combines three distinct riding zones: an asphalt pump track by Velosolutions, a custom concrete skatepark by Pivot Custom, and a Pro Series halfpipe that adds a high-performance vertical element uncommon for smaller municipal builds. A mammoth-themed ParkID branding package ties the venue to the paleontological history of nearby Blackwater Draw, and the project reflects a significant municipal investment supported by state grant funding to position Portales as an action-sports hub in Eastern New Mexico.
