About Scotty Lapp Memorial Skatepark

Scotty Lapp was a skiing legend in his hometown of Corte Madera, California, near San Francisco, and also in Lake Tahoe, where his family moved to allow Scotty and his brother to pursue their passion for skiing. Scotty was also an avid skater. So, when he passed away in 2022, his friends and family sought to memorialize Scotty with a fitting tribute, the Scotty Lapp Memorial Skatepark--a place for area youth to come together, be active, and have fun. The 7,000-square-foot street plaza also includes some transition sections, including an extension shaped and painted in Scotty's trademark style, replete with beanie and pink glasses. The Scotty Lapp Memorial Skatepark was made possible by the Scotty Lapp Foundation, who seek to make skateboarding, skiing, and snowboarding more accessible to youth. They encourage everyone to visit the park, skate, and have fun with your friends. Because that's what Scotty was all about.
