Silver Lake Skatepark
About Silver Lake Skatepark
Silver Lake Skatepark is a multi-generational facility that reflects the evolution of skatepark design. The park is laid out in two main sections: the original prefabricated area and the more recent concrete street plaza. The prefabricated section, composed of Skatewave equipment, offers a more traditional skatepark experience with a collection of ramps and a half-pipe. These elements are constructed with a focus on modularity and durability. Adjacent to this is the 8,300-square-foot concrete street plaza designed by SITE Design Group, Inc. This section provides a more contemporary street skating experience with a variety of features designed to replicate an urban environment. The plaza is thoughtfully laid out with a mix of obstacles, including a stair set with a handrail, various ledges, and rails, allowing for long, flowing lines and a multitude of trick possibilities. A central pyramid feature acts as a versatile obstacle for skaters of all levels. The planned expansion will further enhance the park's architectural diversity by introducing two dedicated bowls. The inclusion of a flow bowl will provide a dynamic, transitional skating experience, while the backyard-style bowl will offer a classic, pool-skating feel. These additions, combined with new street-style ledges and walls, will create a comprehensive and modern skatepark capable of accommodating a wide range of users, from beginners to experienced skaters, and various wheeled sports like BMX, rollerblading, and scootering. The expansion aims to elevate the park to a regional destination for the skateboarding community.
