Taos Youth & Family Center Skate Park

The Taos Youth & Family Center Skate Park is a 16,000 square-foot, outdoor, concrete facility designed by SITE Design Group, Inc. It features a good layout combining transitional and street skating elements. The transitional terrain includes bowls, while the street section offers grinding rails and jumps. A unique architectural element is the "Free Expression Wall" for graffiti art. However, the park's concrete surface has suffered from significant wear and tear due to harsh winters and lack of maintenance, resulting in very rough conditions, deteriorating flat bottoms, choppy transitions, and large cracks. Some reports also note a lack of fundamental street obstacles like easily approachable flat bars, ledges, and manual pads. Despite these issues, it is described as a fun park with good transition and street features.
