About Big Marsh Bike Park

Big Marsh Pump Track is a premier asphalt facility located at 11559 S Stony Island Avenue within the 278-acre Big Marsh Park on Chicago's Southeast Side. Positioned on former industrial slag fields as part of a major eco-recreation initiative, it serves as a high-flow playground designed for BMX, mountain bikes, skateboards, and scooters. Design and Build: The facility was designed and constructed by the globally renowned firm Velosolutions. It was funded and donated to the city by the Friends of Big Marsh. Scale and Scope: Spanning a massive 33,000 square feet, the project stands as the largest free, public asphalt pump track facility in Illinois. Signature Terrain: The site features two distinct, state-of-the-art tracks. The West track is an accessible, beginner-oriented circuit, while the East track offers advanced lines, featuring a steeper third jump set for added pop, alternative inside lines, and dual wallrides to maintain continuous momentum. Additional Infrastructure: The tracks integrate with the park's broader 45-acre bike network, sitting adjacent to extensive dirt jump lines, flow trails, and the newly built Ford Calumet Environmental Center.
