About North Hollywood Skate Park
The North Hollywood Skate Plaza is a 15,000-square-foot concrete facility designed as a modern, street-focused skatepark, intentionally crafted to encourage continuous lines and natural flow. Its layout allows skaters to move freely throughout the space, mirroring an urban street skating environment. Key features include multiple stair sets, a variety of handrails and standalone rails, numerous ledges of different heights, integrated bank ramps for flow, and several manual pads and gaps. The park is notably devoid of transitional features like bowls or quarter pipes, maintaining its street plaza focus. A unique architectural element is that the layout of the obstacles spells out the word "W-I-L-D" when viewed from above, a nod to Rob Dyrdek's animated series, "Wild Grinders." The design emphasizes progression and repetition with sharp angles and smooth surfaces, accommodating skaters of all skill levels. Integrated within the North Hollywood Recreation Center, it serves as a vibrant community asset.
