Southcrest Trails Skate Park
About Southcrest Trails Skate Park
The Southcrest Trails Skate Park is a modern, concrete street plaza integrated into the larger Southcrest Trails Community Park. Designed by SITE Design Group, Inc. and constructed by Grindline Skateparks, the 3,150 square foot facility emphasizes a street-skating experience with a layout that accommodates various skill levels. The park's design features a central plaza area with a mix of transitional and street elements. Skaters can navigate a course that includes multiple-level banks, hipped banks, and kickers for gaining speed and performing aerial maneuvers. A prominent feature is an A-frame with an integrated ledge, providing a classic street obstacle. The park also includes a variety of ledges, such as a curved ledge and hubba ledges, along with a long, flat round rail for grinding and sliding. For more technical skating, there are quarterpipes, a manual pad, and gaps. The inclusion of a shallow bowl and various ramps and steps adds to the diversity of the terrain. The overall design allows for creative lines and combinations of tricks, flowing from one feature to the next. The skatepark is situated near a basketball court within the larger park, which is themed around the local flora and fauna of the adjacent Chollas Creek corridor. The broader park design incorporates natural elements and public art, creating a vibrant community space.
