About UN Skate Plaza (United Nations Plaza)

United Nations Plaza skate plaza in San Francisco, revitalized with a $2M street-style redesign that opened in late 2023 and expanded by about 2,100 sq ft in Feb 2025. The 13,000+ sq ft plaza pays homage to historic San Francisco street spots, including China Banks-inspired features and a centerpiece pyramid modeled after Place de la Republique in Paris. The 2025 expansion added three skateable geometric sculptures by Olympic skateboarder and architect Alexis Sablone. Street obstacles include ledges, manual pads, flat rails, banks, curbs, and volcanoes. Adjacent amenities include outdoor fitness stations, ping pong tables, and chess sets.
